Dual Adelaide premiership player Simon Goodwin has lauded the effort of teammate Ben Rutten for his performance on Port Adelaide superstar Warren Tredrea.Rutten kept Tredrea goalless in Saturday night's first semi-final win, while the 2005 All-Australian full-back also shifted forward to kick a goal in Adelaide's emphatic 83-point victory over the Power at AAMI Stadium."He showed why he's an All-Australian full-back last night," Goodwin said on The Sunday Footy Show."He's had a terrific season and he very rarely gets beaten and to take Tredrea the way he did last night was really good for our side."Goodwin said the semi-final Showdown victory was an outstanding team performance."It was a massive build-up to the game and to the boys' credit, they came out last night (Saturday) ready to play after a set-back last week and the way they came out and attacked the game, it was really good," Goodwin said."It's important to have everyone up and running and it's important for our side - not just last night but throughout the whole year and we've had a really even contribution from everyone."The backline players were once again really good last night and they played their role and the forward especially played their role really well."Goodwin also said the inspiration of Mark Ricciuto could not be underestimated."He's a great leader and he showed why he's one of the best players in the competition and the way he came out in the second half and led the side was terrific and we obviously missed him the week before," Goodwin said.
