The Crows will spend three days in Strathalbyn and the Adelaide Hills on February 26 and 27 for the 2018 AFL Community Camp.

The two-day Camp will follow the Club’s opening JLT Community Series game against Fremantle which will be played at Strathalbyn Oval on Sunday, February 25.

Across the Monday and Tuesday, Crows players will visit 28 schools in the Strathalbyn and Adelaide Hills region, reaching more than 6,000 children.

All 18 AFL Clubs will visit either a metropolitan location or a regional centre for the annual Community Camps, which are designed to allow players to meet fans and develop stronger links with the community.

A highlight of the camp will be the super coaching clinic held from 4.30pm-5.30pm on Monday, February 26 where children will have the opportunity to meet the team, have a kick and a catch and collect autographs. 

Players will also be part of a fundraising dinner on Monday evening at Strathalbyn Football Club which will help raise funds for local clubs. Tickets to the event are available at weflyas.one/fcc2018

Crows General Manager of Football Administration Phil Harper said the Club was looking forward to spending time in the region.

“The Community Camp is an important part of our pre-season schedule. It gives us an opportunity to give back to our thousands of regional supporters who support us so passionately,” Harper said.

“We’re hoping to get a good crowd to kick off our pre-season campaign and then again the next day for our super coaching clinic.

“Regional South Australia has been an important recruiting ground for us in the past with some of our greatest players coming from the country.”

This is the 15th year that the AFL Community Camp initiative has been conducted across Australia. The Crows have previously visited Port Augusta, Murray Bridge, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barossa Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Port Augusta, Mt Gambier, Riverland, Naracoorte, Port Lincoln and Clare.
