The top eight teams are safe in the finals but there are still home finals to be chased in the last minor round next weekend.
At least one game will be played in Perth in the first week of the finals series but there will be two if West Coast wins its last game and holds second spot.
Sydney probably needs to win to stay in the top four, while Richmond, Western Bulldogs and Adelaide are chasing home elimination finals for finishing fifth or sixth.
The run home
1. Fremantle
68 points (17 wins, four losses) 125.1 per cent
Minor premiers. Will start their finals campaign in Perth.
Rd 23: Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval
2. West Coast
(15 wins, five losses, one draw) 143 per cent
Must win next weekend to be sure of holding second spot and securing a home finals in Perth.
Rd 23: St Kilda at Domain Stadium
3. Hawthorn
60 points (15 wins, six losses) 156.8 per cent
Need to win and then rely on West Coast losing (or drawing) its Saturday night game if it is to climb into second spot and earn a home final in the first week.
Rd 23: Carlton at the MCG
4. Sydney Swans
60 points (15 wins, six losses) 124.1 per cent
Will keep fourth spot if it beats the Suns. Otherwise Richmond appears the only possible challenger.
Rd 23: Gold Coast at the SCG
5. Richmond
56 points (14 wins, seven losses) 121.4 per cent
Needs to win on Friday night to have any hope of taking fourth spot off the Swans. If the Tigers lose, they face a nervous wait for other results and could slide as far as 7th.
Rd 23: North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium
6. Western Bulldogs
56 points (14 wins, seven losses) 116.8 per cent
The top four now looks out of reach but still need to win to play at home in the first week of the finals.
Rd 23: Brisbane Lions at the Gabba
7. Adelaide
54 points (13 wins, seven losses, one no result) 119.1 per cent
A win in the last round combined with a loss by either Richmond or the Bulldogs would allow the Crows to secure a home final by finishing 5th or 6th. Lose and the Crows will probably be in Melbourne in the first week of the finals.
Rd 23: Geelong at Simonds Stadium
8. North Melbourne
52 points (13 wins, eight losses) 109.1 per cent
Safe in the eight but even if it wins on Friday night will finish either 7th or 8th.
Rd 23: Richmond at Etihad Stadium
