Adelaide has made four changes ahead of its Round Seven clash with Fremantle at Unley Oval on Saturday.

In a boost for the Crows, two-time Premiership forward Danielle Ponter returns to the side after spending the past three weeks on the sidelines recovering from a quad strain.

As announced earlier on Friday, draftee Keeley Kustermann will make her AFLW debut, while utility Jasmine Simmons and forward Lisa Whiteley have earned a recall.

The Crows selected Kustermann with Pick No.40 at the AFLW Draft in July after an impressive SANFLW season with West Adelaide.

Competitive and reliable with a penetrating kick, Kustermann captained the undefeated South Australian team at the NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships and her consistency was rewarded with All-Australian selection.

She is a former 800m runner who can play across half-back or on a wing and also spent time in the midfield for the Bloods.

Kustermann will become the fourth player to debut in the tri colours this season, following Niamh Kelly, Amber Ward and Jess Waterhouse.

Adelaide AFLW Senior Coach Matthew Clarke said he was excited to give Kustermann an opportunity.

“She has trained the house down with us and she’ll bring speed, enthusiasm and we are really excited to see what Keeley is going to bring to the table,” Clarke said.

“The opportunity presented and she’s well-deserving of taking it.”

Forward McKenzie Dowrick comes out of the side after injuring her ACL during the inaugural Showdown last Friday night.

Hannah Button (personal reasons) Jess Waterhouse (one-match suspension) and Eloise Jones (injured) will also miss the Round Seven match.

The Crows will celebrate Pride Round during this weekend’s match by donning specially-designed guernseys.

Adelaide’s guernsey has the rainbow flag woven seamlessly into the centre of the design, reflecting how LGBTIQA+ fans are a core part of the Adelaide Football Club community.

The 2022 design increases the visibility of the rainbow flag, with the colours added to the shoulders of the guernsey.

Adelaide plays Fremantle at Unley Oval on Saturday, with the first bounce at 2.40pm.
