Adelaide AFLW Senior Coach Matthew Clarke believes his side’s ability to finish strong and record narrow victories gives it a huge boost heading into its clash with Collingwood.

The Reigning Premiers enter the Round Four game after digging deep to record come-from-behind wins in the past two matches.

“We’ve had some tough games already and all of our games thus far have been pretty tight and I’d envisage it will be similar,” Clarke said.

“The good news is that we’ve been in those types of games for the past three weeks, so we’ve prepared for what is to come.

“The last two weeks probably gives us confidence that if we are in a tight tussle we’ve got that capacity to finish strong, so that’s a nice piece to have built into the first month.”

Speaking to the media on Friday, the coach said the Crows would need to be at their best to beat Collingwood, which was undefeated after three rounds this season.

He said the team needed to make the most of its opportunities, given how short the AFLW season was, with 10 minor rounds.

“They’ve had a great start to the season and they’ve been a strong team for the past couple of years, so it’ll be a really good challenge for us,” Clarke said.

“In terms of what winning does, it does build belief, but more importantly it gets you closer to the end game which is to qualify for finals.

“It’s going to be a really tight season… therefore every game is crucial.

“We’ve just got to bank as many (wins) as quickly as we can and hopefully get enough to qualify.”

The Crows’ Round Four team will be announced on Saturday at 5pm (ASCT).

Adelaide plays Collingwood at Victoria Park on Sunday, with the first bounce at 11.40am (ACST).

The Crows will continue to celebrate Indigenous Round this weekend by participating in another gift exchange, thanks to co-major partner BHP, and wearing its Indigenous guernsey.
