HIS CONTRACT expires at the end of this year but Adelaide defender Jake Lever has given an indication he wants to recommit to the Crows.
The 20-year-old has impressed in defence through his short career since being drafted at No.14 in 2014.
Lever did not miss a match last season and was part of a backline that ranked sixth for points conceded.
Much of his family is in Melbourne, although younger brother Tyson recently joined the Crows' SANFL development squad.
"Adelaide is a great place. I live in Glenelg, which is one of the nicer suburbs, and where I am from in country Victoria there are not too many beaches. Plus I’m doing something I love," Jake Lever told News Corp.
"Melbourne is where the family is and it is great to go back and see them, but Adelaide has been great and I've loved every minute of it."
Despite having looked sound at AFL level, Lever said he was wary of not letting his form waver.
"I feel more comfortable, not so much about getting in the side, but more about how I can improve and make the team better," Lever said.
"There are always blokes pushing up in the SANFL so you can never get too comfortable."
