Taylor Walker was involved in shaving a mullet at AAMI Stadium on Friday … but not his own.
Sebastian Marshall, 8, realised a dream when he got to meet Walker – his favourite player – at Crows training.
Sebastian has followed Tex with a passion and over the last 18 months has grown his hair to replicate Tex’s famous ‘mullet’.
Once Sebastian learnt of Taylor’s commitment to shave his hair if he could raise $50,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, Sebastian was inspired to do the same and hopes to raise $1000 himself. You can donate at http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/SebastianMarshall
Sebastian and his family have travelled over from Western Australia to attend this week’s game against Sydney. The Crows Foundation thought they would set up a meeting between Sebastian and his hero, and have Tex do the honours of shaving off Sebastian’s mullet.
Tex did such a good job Sebastian’s brother, Eamon, wanted a haircut too. It could be a possible career after footy for Tex, whose mother and sister are both hairdressers.
Taylor asked Sebastian if he would grow his mullet back, to which Sebastian replied “I will if you do”.
With Tex’s tally now over $60,000 and the Crows Foundation donation of $75,000, we have now funded over $135,000 towards the construction of a new family apartment at the Leukaemia Foundation’s Patient Care Facility being built at Northgate.
Stay tuned to find out when the real mullet comes off live on The Footy Show …
