The Crows have been bolstered by the returns of Rory Sloane and Brodie Smith for Saturday night’s Elimination Final against North Melbourne.

Sloane returns after serving a one-match ban for rough conduct against Port Adelaide’s Brad Ebert.

Smith, who also missed Adelaide’s last game of the home and away season, has recovered from a concussion sustained in the Round 22 Showdown win.

The All-Australian duo replaces Ricky Henderson and Cam Ellis-Yolmen, who have both been omitted. Henderson, young forward Riley Knight and ruckman Reilly O’Brien are the emergencies.

Defenders Kyle Cheney and Luke Brown, who were both under fitness clouds early in the week, took part in the Club’s main training session on Wednesday and are set to take their places in the team.

In the Club’s new Team Selection show on Facebook, coach Don Pyke said he expected Cheney and Brown to play.

“Both trained well on Wednesday and pulled up well this morning,” he said.

“There’s one final hurdle to clear at our captain’s run tomorrow morning, but at this stage we expect them to play.”

 

Remarkably, only Sam Shaw, who is on the long-term injury list as he recovers from concussion symptoms, was unavailable for selection at AFL or SANFL level this week.

The AFL squad will train Adelaide Oval on Friday from about 9:30am. The light session run up to 45 minutes.

It will be the Crows’ first-ever final at Adelaide Oval.

Defender Kyle Hartigan will play his 50th AFL game against the Kangaroos.

If not required at AFL level, Henderson, Ellis-Yolmen and Knight will line-up in the Club’s SANFL Semi-Final against South Adelaide on Sunday. Wingman Paul Seedsman, who hasn’t played in a month because of a badly corked buttock, will make his return against the Panthers at Adelaide Oval. See the full SANFL team.
