Adelaide’s No.1 midfield pairing of Scott Thompson and Sam Jacobs were the Club’s top Fantasy scorers in Showdown XXXIX.

It comes as no surprise that Phillip Walsh Medallist Thompson led the way with 126 points from 36 possessions, eight tackles and a clutch goal late in the third quarter to help the Crows hold on for victory.

The two-time Club Champion has produced yet another stellar season in 2015, and is the second-best Crow for average Fantasy points per game (99.5) behind Patrick Dangerfield.

Thompson responded after a 56 against West Coast in what was his lowest score of the season, although that can be forgiven considering the difficult circumstances.

He could also be an inspired captain selection heading into Round 17 given his overall record against the Suns. Who could forget his score of 151 in Round 22, 2011, when he chalked up a career-high 51 possessions?

Like Thompson, Jacobs rebounded in style following his lowest Fantasy total of the season against the Eagles. ‘Sauce’ amassed 51 hit-outs and 17 disposals for a season-best 120 points and came very close to taking home the Phillip Walsh Medal himself.

He was the No.3 ranked ruckman for the round behind Geelong’s Mark Blicavs (123) and Todd Goldstein (175) who starred on Friday night against the Bombers.

If you’re one of the few who haven’t got Jacobs in your team, now is the time to strike. He’s the cheapest he’s been all season ($503,000) and is a must-have heading towards Fantasy league finals.

Midfielder Richard Douglas is another Crow who is prime for the picking.

The 2010 Club Champion was back to his best against Port Adelaide with 26 possessions, five tackles and a goal for a solid 97 points – his highest total since Round Two.

It’s been an injury-interrupted year for Douglas, who missed five games with a foot complaint, but his $419,000 price tag is tempting considering his scoring potential in the final rounds.

Keep an eye on Thursday night’s team selection before deciding whether to jump on left-footer Rory Atkins. He’s a bargain price at $120,000, but it’s yet to be known whether he will remain in the side given Adelaide’s diminishing injury list.

It’s a similar story for dual position Crows Brodie Martin (86) and Riley Knight (48). Both players gave good value in Showdown XXXIX but are yet to cement their spots in Adelaide’s starting squad.
