Young Adelaide forward Josh Rachele has been named the Round Four NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.
Rachele booted three goals and collected 19 touches in the Crows’ four-point loss to Essendon at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
Adelaide's No. 8 – who turned 19 today – also took an equal game-high nine marks in just his fourth AFL game.
Rachele leads Adelaide's goal-scoring tally for the season with 11 after joining the Club via Pick 6 in the 2021 NAB National Draft.
“Obviously I’m honoured to get the nomination this week, there are some fantastic young players both at our Club and in the competition so it’s nice to be mentioned alongside them,” Rachele said.
“I’ve loved every minute of my time at the Club so far, loved playing with my teammates and in front of the fans and the Showdown win in Round Three was an early highlight.
“My teammates and coaches have been great in welcoming me to the footy club and helping with my development and I’m excited about what we can achieve in the future.”
Rachele follows in the footsteps of teammates Harry Schoenberg and Riley Thilthorpe who earnt nominations last year, as well as Lachlan Sholl, who was twice nominated for Rising Star.
