Former Adelaide ruckman Sam Jacobs has revealed a Brenton Sanderson spray was the heaviest of his 208-game career.
On Triple M’s The Crows Radio Show, Jacobs recounted the Sunday afternoon game where he and Ben Rutten were in Sanderson’s firing line.
“Sando gave us the biggest one,” Jacobs said.
“It was an early Sunday game against the Western Bulldogs at the Etihad and there’s vision of Sando… unfortunately me and Truck were in the gun.
“Will Minson (former Bulldogs ruckman) started well, pushed me under the ball and was able to kick a goal. It was a cardinal sin for a ruckman, don’t get pushed under the ball.”
Heading into the quarter-time break, Jacobs knew he was going to cop it.
“You’re walking around knowing you’re every chance of copping it,” Jacobs said.
“You’re sheepishly hiding and then you just see Sando make a beeline for me and Truck.
“First off, he comes in and gives it to Truck.
“Sando is running hot, he turns at me and just gives us both barrels.
“Absolutely copped it, straight between the eyes.”
Also on The Crows Radio Show this week, Greg Anderson talks about his footy career and Lachlan Murphy jumps on for a chat.
Tune in this Sunday at 9am on Triple M Adelaide for the next installment of Sauce and Thomo.
