Adelaide’s stellar 2022 AFLW season has been recognised with four players earning All-Australian selection.
Prolific midfielders Ebony Marinoff and Anne Hatchard, defender Sarah Allan and forward Ashleigh Woodland were honoured with selection in the final team as part of the AFLW Awards on Tuesday night.
Marinoff, who notched her 50th AFLW match in the Round Nine win over Collingwood, is the only Crow to have been named in the All-Australian squad in every AFLW season since 2017.
The 24-year-old reigning Club Champion averaged 24.8 disposals, 10 contested, 7.5 tackles and 4.1 marks this season and also became the first AFLW player to amass 1000 disposals.
Hatchard finished Season Six with an average of 24.5 disposals, 6.9 marks, 3.8 tackles and 10.9 contested possessions.
Allan has been a pillar in defence for the Crows this season, averaging 5.5 intercept possessions, 2.8 rebounds in defensive 50 and 11.5 disposals.
Woodland cemented her spot as the League’s most potent forward in front of the big sticks, claiming the leading goal kicker award with 19 majors, to go with an average of 8.9 disposals.
Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said all four players deserved to be named in the final team.
“Ebony, Anne, Ash and Sarah have all worked incredibly hard and couldn’t be more deserving of this accolade,” Harper said.
“To be included in the AFLW All-Australian team is a huge honour and one I know all four of them would be extremely proud of.
“I also know that they would like to acknowledge all their teammates for their roles in helping them to achieve this accolade.
“They are all not just incredible footballers but also great people with a team-first attitude and I know they would want nothing more than to hold that Premiership Cup up with their teammates on Saturday afternoon.”
The AFLW All Australian Selection Panel included Nicole Livingstone (Chair) Andrew Dillon, Laura Kane, Brad Scott, Sam Virgo, Narelle Smith, Kelli Underwood, Sarah Black, Megan Waters and Tim Harrington.
Adelaide will continue its preparations for the 2022 AFLW Grand Final with an open training session at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, April 6, from 5.30pm.
The Crows will then have one final training session at West Lakes on Friday.
Adelaide will take on Melbourne in the 2022 AFLW Grand Final at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, April 9, at 12pm.
