McKinnon ban upheld
Adelaide ruck Montana McKinnon stands to miss Saturday’s AFLW Grand Final against Melbourne after the AFL tribunal upheld a one-match ban.
McKinnon was offered the ban for engaging in rough conduct with Fremantle’s Kiara Bowers in the preliminary final last weekend.
The incident was graded Careless Conduct, Medium Impact and High Contact.
At the tribunal on Tuesday night Adelaide argued the impact should be reduced to low, but was unsuccessful.
Crows AFLW Head of Football Phil Harper said he was disappointed with the decision.
“It’s a terribly disappointing result for our Club and obviously Montana as well," Harper said.
"Like all of the players in our squad, she has contributed to us making the Grand Final and it’s heart breaking that she won’t be able to play.
"The Club will now consider it's options."
