Media personality Graeme Goodings and Crows premiership player Rod Jameson will serve on the Adelaide Football Club’s Board of Directors after polling the most votes in an independently run election.

Goodings, who worked with Channel 7 Adelaide as a journalist and news anchor for more than three decades, has been elected on a two-year term, while incumbent Jameson was re-instated for a further year after finishing second in the voting.

They were among seven candidates vying for two Member-elected positions, with the election process involving an online ballot run by CorpVote.

Goodings, who claimed 31.8 percent of the vote, has strong ties to Adelaide’s official supporter group, while having also been a Club ambassador. 

Jameson, a life member who played 153 games for the Crows, gained 30.6 percent of the vote and will now enter his eighth year as a Director.

Adelaide Chairman John Olsen described the annual nomination and election process as a significant part of the governance structure that ensured Members had an opportunity to influence the way in which the Club is run.

“On behalf of the Board, management, staff, coaches, players and Members, I would like to congratulate Graeme and Rod on their appointments,” Olsen said.

“As a Club, we are building towards sustained success, both on and the field, and there is a great deal for all Crows fans to be excited about.”

Goodings described the vote of confidence from the Members as an honour and privilege.

“I have been a passionate supporter of the Club since day one and I will endeavour to reflect the views and desires of the Members at Board level so their voices can be heard,” he said.

Jameson thanked the Members, as well as Adelaide’s past players and officials, for the continued trust they had shown in him.

“We are continually making improvements to our football programs and we are well placed ahead of another AFL season,” he said.

“Our women’s team also continues to perform and achieve, while the SANFL side keeps on developing talent.”
Board-appointed Directors Richard Fennell and Mark Ricciuto have also had their tenures extended.
