Adelaide has claimed five wins from as many games so far this AFLW season, but Irish recruit Ailish Considine says there’s plenty more improvement to come.

The Crows’ final-quarter surge helped them to a strong 7.9 (51) to 1.6 (12) victory against Carlton at Ikon Park on Sunday.

Considine, who featured on the wing against the Blues, snuck forward to boot two important goals in the win.

Speaking to the media on Monday, the 29-year-old said her teammates were proud of their performance but wanted to get even better as the season continued to progress.

“I think Carlton are very strong in the contest and they are very quick to move the ball by hand,” Considine said.

“I think collectively we had really good patches in the game and had really strong performances from a lot of the girls.

“I’m not sure if it’s been our best performance so far but hopefully we’ll keep improving and set the bar higher.”

Adelaide’s journey to Melbourne was another whirlwind, with the team and staff flying in and out the same day.

But Considine said the trip was well worth it to bring home the four points.

“It’s a tough day because we were pretty much gone from 9am until 9pm, so a 12-hour shift, essentially,” Considine said.

“Obviously spirits are high after a win, the long days seem a lot easier.

“Coming up against Carlton, who are always a tough side to face, we were super pleased to get our fifth win of the season so far.

"Keep doing what you’re doing and keep working hard and the opportunity will come"

Considine, who has averaged nine disposals over the last three matches, said hard work had helped with gaining selection and she was keen to continue doing her bit for the team.

“The feedback from most of the coaches is just, ‘Keep doing what you’re doing and keep working hard and the opportunity will come’,” Considine said.

“I guess I’ve just been fortunate enough to get that opportunity the past couple of games and hopefully I’ve shown enough to keep playing my role for the team and keep getting a spot.

“I love playing no matter where it is - on the wing, half-forward, half-back - and I just take the opportunity the best I can, whenever that comes about.”
