Adelaide midfielder Harry Schoenberg is putting in the yards to improve his fitness ahead of the 2022 season.

The young Crow played every match in his third season at West Lakes, averaging 18.4 disposals and 3.6 tackles per game.

During the off-season, Schoenberg continued to train alongside his teammates in SA.

“It’s the best I’ve felt,” Schoenberg said on Monday,

“That was my main focus into this preseason, get fitter and be able to play more midfield minutes.

“I want to keep improving and I’d still like to put on size… (but) you can always get fitter. That’s my main focus going forward.”

With Covid restricting players from returning home during the break, most remained in Adelaide.

“We’ve become a tighter group, especially with all the Melbourne boys,” Schoenberg said.

“We’ve stuck tight as a group, trained together and kept each other accountable.

“I think this off-season, we’ve really just nailed that and come back in really good shape.”

On the track, new High Performance Manager Darren Burgess is putting the boys through their paces.

Schoenberg said the entire team had connected with him well.

“He’s driving us to be a fit football club,” he said.

“He’s been great for me personally. It has been difficult, but it will definitely benefit us going forward.”
