Walker, the boy from Broken Hill, became Adelaide’s first AFL NSW Scholarship player in 2006. Prior to being drafted in 2007, he guided North Broken Hill to a Premiership, booting seven goals, and was named best-on-ground despite being just 17. He had a breakout year in 2011, kicking 63 goals. He captained the Crows between 2015 and 2018, twice being voted the AFLPA Best Captain, in 2016 and 2017. Walker led the way in Adelaide’s forward line with a Club-high 43 goals in 2019. The then co-captain booted his 400th AFL goal against Melbourne in Round 11. After a challenging year for the Crows, Walker made the tough decision to step down as captain at the end of 2019. He has won Adelaide's leading goal kicker award six times, including in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Walker played his 200th game for the Club and became Adelaide’s all-time leading goalkicker when he kicked his 441st in Round 18 2020. Off field, Walker and his wife Ellie welcomed their first child, Hugo James in November 2019, before second son Louis Jack was born in January 2021. The Walkers then welcomed their third child, Harriet (Hattie) in October 2022. Walker produced produced arguably career-best form in 2023, booting 76 goals across 22 games. He notched his 250th game-milestone in Round 13 against West Coast and celebrated with a 10-goal haul. In July, 2023, Adelaide's greatest ever goal kicker put pen to paper on a new, one-year deal, extending his AFL career into a 17th season.
