Melbourne midfielder Jake Melksham will miss Saturday night’s clash with the Crows at Adelaide Oval due to suspension.
Melksham was a strong chance for an instant recall to the senior side after gathering 30 possessions in the VFL, but has since accepted a one-match VFL ban.
The former Bomber was reprimanded for two separate striking incidents in the Casey Demons’ clash with Werribee. Players suspended at state league level are also unavailable for AFL selection.
Young pair Alex Neal-Bullen and Dean Kent could come under consideration while Billy Stretch (25 disposals), Ben Kennedy (26) and former co-captain Jack Trengove (22) all performed strongly at VFL level last weekend.
Midfielder James Harmes was sent to hospital on Sunday night after suffering a nasty eye injury and won’t be considered for Saturday’s contest against the Crows.
