Rookie Jono Beech has been upgraded to Adelaide’s senior list.
Beech replaces midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen, who has been put on the long-term injury list as he recovers from a knee reconstruction.
It’s the second time 26-year-old Beech has been promoted to the Club’s primary squad.
The strong-marking forward was elevated and came close to an AFL debut late last season, named as an emergency for the Round 23 clash with West Coast.
He claimed Adelaide’s State League Club Champion award in 2016 and earned a second year on the rookie list.
Beech made his Crows debut in the opening round of the JLT Community Series this year.
The West Adelaide recruit slotted a goal with his first kick in the opening minutes before coming from the ground with a calf injury, which kept him sidelined for the rest of the pre-season competition.
Beech, who averaged 18 possessions and kicked 29 goals last season, was one of Adelaide’s best players in the Club’s SANFL season-opener against Sturt last weekend.
A rookie must be elevated to the primary squad to be eligible for AFL selection.
Once placed on the long-term injury list, a player is ineligible to line up at any level for a minimum of eight weeks.
The Crows will name their team to play Essendon on afc.com.au and the official club App at 5:55pm on Thursday.
