Adelaide reported a clean bill of health from Friday night’s clash with Geelong.
Rory Laird, who didn’t play against the Cats, is set to miss a third game with a fractured toe.
Laird has cast aside the ‘moon boot’ protecting the injury, but Crows GM of High Performance Brett Burton said he wasn't expecting the small defender to play against Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.
“Rory is back running,” Burton said on Monday.
“He’s travelling along okay, but we’d expect him to miss one more.”
Midfielder David Mackay, who strained his hamstring against the Western Bulldogs in Round Seven, has also started running.
“Dave Mackay is coming along well,” Burton said.
“… with those hamstrings (type of injuries) and given his previous history, we’d expect him to be a couple more weeks.”
Adelaide’s SANFL team had a bye on the weekend.
Defenders Jake Kelly (hand) and Alex Keath (knee) will need to complete main training this week to prove their fitness ahead of Saturday’s SANFL clash with Central District at Elizabeth.
Forward Riley Knight is an outside chance to play this weekend, but is more likely to sit out with an ankle complaint. Sam Shaw will continue to be assessed in accordance with concussion protocols.
Recruit Curtly Hampton remains a few weeks away from playing after foot surgery.
