Josh Jenkins and Scott Thompson were the only Crows to receive votes from the coaches in Saturday night’s round one clash at Etihad Stadium.
North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein and Jenkins – who booted five goals – both picked up a total of six votes from Don Pyke and Brad Scott in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award.
Kangaroos midfielders Ben Cunnington and Jack Ziebell each collected five votes and defender Robbie Tarrant four.
Adelaide’s Scott Thompson (two votes) was the game’s leading possession-getter with 30 disposals, including 12 in the last term. The other two votes went to North forward Jarrad Waite.
Six players polled the maximum ten votes in round one – Robbie Gray (Port), Luke Parker (Sydney), Jack Viney (Melbourne), Kane Lambert (Richmond), Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong) and Aaron Hall (Gold Coast).
