Promising recruit Dean Gore will wear the No.36 for Adelaide next season.
Gore, 19, is aiming to become just the fourth player to wear No.36 in an official match for the Club.
The number was most famously worn in 275 AFL games by Adelaide champion, Simon Goodwin. A two-time premiership player and Life Member, Goodwin is currently the only name on the locker.
Originally recruited by Geelong in last year’s National Draft, Gore returned to South Australia in the recent trade period.
An avid Crows fan growing up, the former Sturt junior said he was excited to take over the jumper.
“I chose the No.36 because Simon Goodwin wore it,” Gore said.
“As a kid, I used to go to Crows games all the time and he (Goodwin) was a player I loved watching.”
The No.36 was most recently owned by wingman Brodie Martin, who started his career in No.41. It was first worn in a match for premiership points by inaugural Crow and former coach, Brenton Sanderson.
Young forward Riley Knight will also don a popular number next season, accepting an offer from retired Crows great Brent Reilly to wear No.3.
