Young forward Riley Knight is the latest Crow to commit to the Club, signing a new two-year deal.
Knight, 20, was recruited with pick No.46 in the 2013 National Draft.
The hard-running goalkicker overcame a pre-season ankle injury to make his AFL debut in Round 15.
He’s played seven consecutive games, impressing with his work rate and neat skills.
He follows Rory Sloane, Sam Jacobs, Richard Douglas, Rory Laird, Luke Brown, Jake Lever, Charlie Cameron, Jake Kelly and Reilly O’Brien in signing on with the Club this season.
Knight said he was excited to put pen to paper on the new deal, which will see him remain at Adelaide until at least the end of 2017.
“It’s awesome to get another couple of years at the Club,” Knight said.
“If you look at the recent player signings, a lot of young blokes are committing to the Club. It’s good to see that the young boys know where the Club is heading, and believe that team success is around the corner.”
Crows Head of Football David Noble praised Knight’s professionalism.
“Riley has elite endurance, an excellent work rate and he always puts the team first,” Noble said.
“His approach to training is first class and despite an interrupted pre-season has been able to have a real impact in the second half of the season.”
Knight kicked two goals on debut in Adelaide’s emotion-charged game against West Coast, and collected a career-best 17 possessions and six marks in the win over Brisbane on Saturday night.
The former Woodville-West Torrens junior said he was learning what’s required at the elite level.
“You’ve got to bring your ‘A’-game every week because there are guys below you who will come in and take your spot,” he said.
“It’s good to have a healthy list and have people fighting for spots. You’ve got to bring effort and intensity every week and be competitive.
“If you have 22 competitive players every week, then you’ll get the result as a team.”
Knight is a member of the multi-faceted Crows attack.
He said the Adelaide forwards were developing a good chemistry.
“It’s pretty special to be a part of the forward line at the moment,” Knight said.
“When you’ve got Eddie Betts and Charlie Cameron slotting them from the boundary on every angle, it’s pretty awesome to sit back and watch and know that you have those blokes in your side.
“Then to have the captain (Taylor Walker) step up and kick seven (on the weekend), and ‘JJ’ (Josh Jenkins) kicking five and four in previous weeks, and Tommy Lynch in career-best form as well. The forward line is functioning really well and everyone is starting to get the best out of themselves.
“It’s a good feeling when the ball comes inside 50m because you know something special will happen.”
Knight gave off the handball that led to young teammate Rory Atkins’ Goal of the Year nomination from the pocket at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
“He (Atkins) hasn’t stopped going on about it since the weekend. It was good,” Knight said.
“I was still on the ground after I gave the handball and didn’t even see his kick. The next minute, Rat is doing the little finger twirl and winking at the cameras.
“It was awesome for him to kick that goal and he’s been playing really well since he came into the team.”
Knight, who finished joint runner-up in Adelaide’s SANFL best and fairest award last year, said his AFL experience this season would be invaluable to his development.
“I didn’t have the best of pre-seasons this year, but I was pretty happy to be able to come back in the second half of the year and play some AFL footy,” he said.
“I’ve played in a couple of big games … and that will hold me in good stead. I want to keep working on my skills and cement a spot in the 22.”
