Port defender Alipate Carlile could return in Showdown XXXVI at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Carlile made a successful return from a quad injury with the Port Magpies League on the weekend. Paul Stewart will face a test on a sore calf.

Several young players have been added to the Club’s injury list.

Andrew Moore has been re-added to the Power’s injury list after sustaining a knock to his AC joint in a training exercise last week. The sprain is expected to keep him out of action for at least a week.

Lewis Stevenson also injured a toe while training and is likely to be available for a return to action by Round 4. Mason Shaw will undergo scans on a wrist injury sustained in the opening half of the Magpies’ trial against Central District, but Tom Logan is expected to train fully despite leaving the ground late in the match.

Campbell Heath has had his return from a shin injury reassessed, with the backman now projected to return in mid to late April. Rookie-listed Sam Russell will meet with surgeons to determine whether further action needs to be taken on what Burgess described as a “significant hamstring tendon” injury. He has been initially slated for a return in 8-10 weeks.
