Adelaide and Fremantle have faced off 42 times, and the Crows hold the advantage in the head-to-head ledger 23 wins to 19.

Fremantle has had the upper hand against Adelaide in recent times, winning four of the past five games.

The last time the two teams met was in Round One, 2022 where Fremantle won by one-point, following a late goal by Lachie Schultz who finished the game with three majors.

The game was memorable for fan-favourite Josh Rachele, who in his first game of AFL footy announced himself to the competition kicking a game-high five goals, while Ben Keays won lots of the ball, amassing 37 disposals.

In Round 15 2009, Adelaide kept the Dockers to their lowest score, 13 points in a 117-point victory. Fremantle kicked just one goal in the game with it being the lowest score Adelaide has ever conceded.

Nathan Bock and Graham Johncock both had 29 touches, while Jason Porplyzia and Kurt Tippet booted five goals each.

One of the most memorable games between Adelaide and Fremantle occurred in Round Nine 2015 where star midfielders Patrick Dangerfield and Nat Fyfe battled at Adelaide Oval.

Dangerfield had 38 touches, eight tackles and nine clearances, while Fyfe finished with 40 disposals, 14 clearances and 876 metres gained in an 11-point win for Fremantle.

Keays has been one of Adelaide’s best players against the Dockers since joining the club in 2020, averaging 27.3 disposals, 5.7 inside 50’s and 3.3 tackles.

Lachlan Sholl has put in strong performances in his two games against Fremantle, averaging 23 disposals, 8.5 marks and 362 metres gained.

Fremantle vice-captain Andrew Brayshaw has led the way in the middle of the ground for the Dockers in their past five encounters with Adelaide, averaging 25 disposals, 4.2 tackles and 14.6 uncontested possessions.

Adelaide will be looking to slow down the influence of defender Luke Ryan who is averaging 28.7 disposals 10 marks and 638.9 metres gained per game this season.

Fremantle, however, are likely to pay extra attention to Adelaide forward Izak Rankine who is averaging 2.7 goals, 8.7 score involvements and 15.7 disposals.

A key match-up will be between ruckmen Reilly O’Brien and Sean Darcy who have been two of the best hit-out rucks so far this season, averaging 32.7 and 39.3 hit-outs a game, respectively.

Fremantle has struggled to win in Adelaide, having a losing record – 13 wins and 30 losses.

The Dockers have won three games and lost nine at Adelaide Oval - all three wins coming against the Crows.

Since both becoming Senior Coaches in 2020 Matthew Nicks and Justin Longmuir have gone head-to-head three times.

Longmuir holds the bragging rights winning all three games.

If Adelaide wins it will jump above Fremantle on the ladder.
